Jamaica Villas Blog. Jamaica Villas from Villas Sur Mer at West End, Negril in Jamaica. Villas Sur Mer is a boutique resort for Jamaica holidays, weddings, honeymoons and special events.
Butterfly Villa at Silver Sands in Jamaica is one villa I would like to point out to you because it is that little bit special. Silver sands, for those of you who don’tknow much about the geography of Jamaica is on the north side of the island, about halfway along between Falmouth and Rio Bueno, about 60 minutes from Montego Bay airport. Silver sands is a rather select gated community that has handsome views of the Caribbean Sea and the properties are owned by foreigners and Jamaicans who use the Silver Sands Resort as holiday homes, each villa is completely individual and decorated to the owners style and taste.
Butterfly Villa is a modern villa that has 4 luxury bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, fully staffed and with everything you need on the home comforts front, TV, DVD and of course, the Internet. 60 minutes from Montego Bay and all that happens there but also slap bang on the main highway that takes you to Ochos Rios, James Bond Beach, Dunne’s River Falls, Rio Bueno and a host of other natural, historical and cultural sites and beauty spots. The ideal villa for discovering Jamaica. Take a look from our main website: Butterfly Villa link
As if it were not enough that my dear neighbour Javier brought me bundle after bundle of fresh Andalucian Asparagus, so much that I had to smuggle it out to friends to eat, he then produces some chickens for me and tells me they will produce eggs. No sh*t! I know I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I do know chickens lay eggs. This lot though, they just produce blobs of yellow-green pooh!
It has been a distraction I can tell you, I have made them bed boxes and cut up lots of paper so they will be comfortable when they lay their eggs, so, what do they do? They pooh in the box and lay the eggs in the garden. While they are at it and to add insult to injury, they have eaten half of my herbs! No, not that type of ‘Herb’ I’m talking about Basil, Thyme, Chives, Mint, Oregano and Sage (Oh, how I wish they could appreciate the irony of stuffing themselves with Sage!)
So, now I have these pooh machines that have laid a trail a blind man could follow with his nose, so, anyone out there with a recipe for Jerk Chicken? You know where to send it.
Negril in Jamaica. I was browsing through the villas we have on the Jamaican Treasures website and was drawn to the villas in Negril, why? I don’t know, maybe because I love the sound of the name ‘Negril’ or maybe because of Negrils location, whatever it was I was drawn to it. Now, for those of you who have never been to Jamaica Negril are on the western most tip of the island of Jamaica, between West End and Orange Bay and looks out over the Caribbean Sea towards Cancun in Mexico.
What is there in Negril? Well, There is Dolphine Cove, a magnificent place where you can swim with real life Dolphins in the biggest natural cove in the world, if that's not enough, you can also swim with the Stingrays! Wild Crocodile & Adventure Tour: Not as scary as it seems, this is a beautiful place with the most amazing cliffside views, beautiful Flora and Fauna, guided tours, Horse riding, Donkey rides and lots for the whole family, and the Crocs? They are all in a big pond, no worries there!
Discovery Falls is another great attraction for those who visit Negril. There is a really cool Zip Line Tour through the Jungle as well as having a cool spring fed waterfall. The cool thing about Negril is that your not really far away from everything and Montego Bay is only up the A1 motorway.
Negril is home to a rather lovely Hotel called ‘The Caves’ which is actually 13 thatch roofed cottages that perch on the cliffs that overlook the Caribbean Sea and are riddled with very interesting caves, thus the name for this romantic hotel.
These Cliffside cottages are all air conditioned, they are beautifully decorated and all have original artwork and whicker furniture. 1 and 2 bedroom cottages plus luxury villa ‘Clandestino’ which is available as All Inclusive, Light, airy, comfortable, a more romantic location you could not wish for, there are also all of the home comforts at hand, this includes the morning papers. There is a 24 hour self service bar, some of the Caves have hot tubs in them! Also a Cliffside Jacuzzi, Mini Spa, all the mod cons such as the Internet, guided tours, snorkeling, the list of activities and amenities is endless so why not go to the main website and take a look at this unique Hotel and see what you think. The Caves, Negril

“This month I have been mostly eating Figs!” as Jess would say from The Fast Show, well, this month I have mostly been updating websites and also adding content to new websites for Jamaican Treasures, My Luxury Villas, My Jamaica Videos, My Caribbean Videos, Jamaica Videos and some other bits and pieces which is why I have not been Blogging much.
Jamaican Treasures is always being up dated due to the amount of Luxury Villas that are available, the same goes for My Luxury Villas, over 1200 villas in the Caribbean, Bali, Mexico and Thailand so again, plenty of content there to be messing about with. The other websites though, they are new and are all video sites. Why?
I have made 3 video websites for our luxury villas in the Caribbean, we have a YouTube Account JTreasures1 but this isn’t the way I want the villas to be seen, I want a little bit of information available and a direct link to the property where it sits on the main website, in short, I want the whole process of viewing the villas speeded up and without those bloody adverts right across the page. OK, the ads still appear if you open the video but at least I have cut down the amount of pollution on the pages. Sound a bit bitchy? Too right!
The 3 video site are www.myjamaicavideos.comwww.mycaribbeanvideos.com and www.jamaicavideos.co.uk and if you have any decent videos for me I will be really happy to add them to any of these sites, I don’t even care if you are a competitor of Jamaican Treasures, we already feature First Choice Holidays, Thomson Holidays and Sandals on our pages, so, your videos will be in good company.
The updates to the Jamaican Treasures site are on pages such as the villa page for Round Hill, Villas on the Waterfront or Beachfront at Negril, Montego Bay, Discovery Bay, Port Antonio, Ochos Rios and more, and some great links to the top villas on the ‘Step 1’ page.
I was sent a rather disturbing photograph from my friend Mike Harding a BBC radio 2 DJ and all round celebrity of TV, radio and books and a right clever dick he is as well. Mike sent me the photograph above and told me that the van was stopped by the police and customs officers on the way through the Eurotunnel, that thing that joins England to France.
Apparently when the police and customs men opened the van door out spilled what seemed to be almost a ton of bananas? Yes, bananas! Not Heroin, not Cocaine not Ganja not even a van full of cheap cigarettes and alcohol but bright yellow Bananas!
Needless to say the customs men were at a loss as to what to do? You can’t get busted for bringing in bananas, no matter how many you have but, the question was, why would you bring in all these bananas when the supermarkets sell them almost ten a penny every day of the week? Perhaps they were actually stuffed with drugs and not really bananas? Perhaps this was a way to disguise the naughty drugs and fool the customs men? I’m told, I don’t actually know if this was the truth but I was told that the police and customs men agreed to test 1 in every 100 Bananas to see if there was anything suspicious but after several bananas each the officials had to concede that the cargo was genuine, only because they felt a bout of gastro enteritis coming on.
The owner of the cargo of bananas who cannot be named said that he was bringing in all these bananas because there was a shortage in the Caribbean and that soon these bananas would be worth a fortune. Let’s hope that this is very soon otherwise he will end up with a van full of mushy black rotten bananas. Is there Banana blight in the Caribbean? I think we should be told!
Whilst I'm here, I've upodated a few of the beautiful villas on the Caribbean Island of Anguilla and I think you would like to take a peep, they are beautiful and in the perfect places. Get the first choice of Anguilla villas and in all the perfect locations by visiting this link. Anguilla Villas.
I’ve been very busy as of late with some new websites for my videos about the Caribbean Islands as well as the Jamaica videos. There are two new sites, one is part built http://www.mycaribbeanvideos.com/ this takes in any and all videos I can Scrounge on the Internet that relate to any of the beautiful islands, like Anguilla, St martin, St Croix, The Bahamas and about 100 other islands, cays and rocks all spread around the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.
The videos take a while to make because they are all in HD format (High Definition) but the quality makes the time taken all the more worthwhile as the detail from the photographs does justice to the villas and the islands they sit on. The other thing that has distracted me are the stand alone pages they now have on these Blogs, these are individual pages, separate from the main Blog, they act like a normal website, it’s great if you want to add some extras, like about me pages or a special feature on a certain villa or island.
Never mind though, Jamaican Treasures and My luxury villas are adding new villas all the time so there is always something of interest for you should you wish to flick through both sites
First Choice Holidays in Jamaica video presentation? Have I gone mad? I know what you’re thinking right now, why this fool is promoting First Choice Holidays in Jamaica on his own Blog for another Villa Holiday company called Jamaican Treasures (The top villa rental company in Jamaica) You would be right to ask some questions but it really is quite simple.
At Jamaican Treasures we are here to help you enjoy a holiday in Jamaica, part of that service is to promote the island of Jamaica and show people what they can expect when they visit. If all I did was slap videos of villas on here, you would get very bored indeed, so, when I find something of general interest, like this video on Jamaica, then I am more than happy to post it so we can all admire the beauty of this paradise island.
Even if the video is part of another companies promotions, that’s not a problem for us, no sir! First Choice Holidays are an excellent company and produce some really good adverts and YouTube videos, so, we are happy to show them, after all, it’s not as if I’m asking you to book your Jamaica villa holiday through First Choice, no! You can come to us for that.
We do like to bring you items of interest on this Jamaica Villas and Jamaica Holidays Blog, it’s not all sales pitch, we do like to introduce items of culture and especially culinary items because, as everyone knows full well, the food in the Caribbean is delicious, tasty and different.
This wonderful video is presented by a delightful lady by the name of Crystal, who takes us on a guided tour of the annual Jerk Festival. Jerk cooking is a Jamaican style culinary method, quite often involving Scotch Bonnet peppers!! Wow!
As we move around the stalls you get an idea of how wonderful an occasion this is and a truly Jamaican cultural event. Enjoy the video.
Now, just before anyone gets on their high horse, let me tell you this is not meant to be blasphemous, no sir! I wouldn’t dream of offending anyone with my Blog, least of all anyone with a religious bent. There is a new craze going around, the Buddy Jesus from that hilarious film ‘Dogma’ starring Ben Affleck and matt Damen as two exiled angels trying to get into heaven. In the film the Church tries to get more people to come by getting hip and changing the image of Jesus from a dour image to a happy ‘Buddy’ image.
Anyway, people are making their own banners out of these images and I thought, hey, what the hell, I’ll have one of those and so I have come up with this Jesus Buddy for Jamaica. Whaddya think?
