Jamaica Villas - Negril

NEGRIL LIGHTHOUSE

The great thing about having your won Jamaica villa is that you can set your own itinerary and not be reliant of hotel timetables and tours. There is so much to see and do in and around Negril and Jamaica as a whole that you need to adopt a flexible approach to get the most out of your Jamaica holiday.

I’m often asked which of the sites in Negril I should visit first, that is a hard question but on reflection I would have to say that Negril Lighthouse would be my choice.

This beautiful Negril landmark, a conical tower that stands 20m in height was built in 1894 about 1.5 miles south east of the westernmost point of the island of Jamaica by a French company with the delightful name of Bubbler & Bernar. What is special about the Negril lighthouse is that it is one of the earliest types of lighthouse built from Concrete.

The setting is as beautiful as the sunsets are divine and this really is somewhere you should take your camera as the photo opportunities are endless.

RICK'S CAFE NEGRIL

Negril, on the westernmost tip of Jamaica is nothing if not diverse. At Negril there is a Jamaica holiday that suites everybody, from families with children to couples on honeymoon and singles that are looking to party the night away.
One of the focal points at Negril for the ‘beautiful people’ is Rick’s Cafe which is perched on the cliff tops at Negril. Rick’s was built by Richard Hershman, in April 1974. At the time, Negril was a sleepy fishing village with little development. It lacked many modern amenities such as electricity, telephone and hot running water.
Now though, Rick’s is a world famous hang-out for the great and the good who visit Negril, it is ‘the place to be seen’ and it is also a prime location for watching people dive of the Negril Cliffs into the sparkling Caribbean Sea below, a very dangerous pastime as there have been fatalities in recent years.
Rick’s Café is somewhere you can do your thing or have a great meal, you can watch fools leap from cliffs or you can just sit with a drink and watch the sun sink into the Caribbean Sea. Ask at Villas Sur Mer about Ricks Café. http://www.rickscafejamaica.com/

A Beach Villa - A Beach Villa in Montego Bay, Jamaica

Wish you were here? You could be...

I have an enquiring mind, I suppose it helps to have one if you spend, as I do, most of your waking hours rummaging through the Internet search engines. I come across many puzzling and unusual things.
A Beach Villa. If I had a beach Villa in Jamaica, what would I call it? Dunroamin? Dunworkin? Maybe, maybe not. There is such a place called A Beach Villa, it is a magnificent place in Montego Bay, A Beach Villa has a great infinity edge swimming pool that makes it look as if you were swimming in the Caribbean sea and not a very posh villa's pool. Take a look at this place, it really is beautiful and then let me know what name you would have given to it. http://www.beachvillajamaica.com/
