Jamaica Villas | Villa Malatai, Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Villa Malatai at Ochos Rios, Jamaica

Malatai is a wonderful new addition to the luxury Villas located in Ocho Rios. Just off the main road into Ocho Rios, a small lane leads to a tropical woodland. At the end of the lane, an electronic gate opens to reveal a large and magnificent new villa named Malatai.

Twin koi ponds grace the covered entrance. On textures of gleaming Jotoba wood, Italian tile, Jerusalem stone, marble and granite, interior spaces open to the piece de resistance: a 3,300-square-foot white sand beach. Directly on the translucent waters of Mammee Bay, Villa Malatai is one of the newest and largest villas in this collection. Completed in January 2005, the property consists of the spacious main villa, air-conditioned fitness cottage, free-form pool and hot tub, large lawn with shaded sitting areas, and deck for pool parties and outdoor entertaining by the sea.

Visiting Jamaica? Beware!

Mr BlogSpot was warned about the Chilli in the Chicken.

Visit Jamaica? Be careful!

I don’t consider myself the sharpest knife in life’s drawer but then again, I don’t profess to be an idiot either but now and again life tends to take me by surprise. Take food, for instance; I love Jamaican food, I really go for it in a big way, especially the jerk Chicken and jerk Pork.

With this in mind, I often make suggestions to clients of Villas Sur Mer in Negril and Personal Choice Jamaica clients as to what they should try when visiting that pearl of the Caribbean Sea that is Jamaica. I tell them to beware of the Jerk! Oh yes, beware of eating jerk food as it can be very hot indeed and for some delicate tourist bellies it may just be too much, they may end up with Montezuma’s revenge and a savagely burnt mouth.
I really should follow my own advice though as I had a bit of a surprise this morning whilst out in the garden. As I mentioned, I am a great fan of Jamaican food and so it follows that I grow my own chillies because here in the mountains of Spain we can’t seem to get Scotch Bonnet chillies, we can get most other varieties, just not Scotch Bonnet. I was trying out some new varieties and so walked around the garden picking at the ripening chilli plants and tasting them.

Most of my new varieties range from zero on the Scoville scale (In 1912 Wilbur Scoville invented a way of measuring the heat of Chilli plants) up to Jalapeño which is the top end of moderate. I had planted a variety called “Aurora (Capsicum annuum”) which I wasn’t that familiar with. Well folks, I am more than familiar with it now! It was hellish hot between 50 and 100,000 Scovilles! I went running for the ice cubes quick as you like.

So, when visiting Jamaica do beware of what you eat, if you don’t like Chilli in your food then you should ask first because you may end up with Scotch Bonnet or even worse, Dorset Naga in your food. A hot reception awaits you in Jamaica that is for sure. Enjoy!

Jamaica places of interest; Negril Beach and Villas Sur Mer

Annie Temple bahamas Property

Mr Bloggs was looking for a quiet spot to practice.

I have heard so much about the nightlife and bright lights of Montego Bay and all about the north coats tourist attractions and places like Dunne’s River Falls, James Bond Beach, Blue Lagoon, Kool Running, Dolphin Cove and all the usual suspects but I have a question; Where are the best places to visit in Negril?

Well, according to my friend Annie Temple from the Bahamas who is a regular visitor to Negril and stays at the Villas Sur Mer on the cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Annie Temple reckons the best thing to do is first, get to Negril and then explore the town for yourself as one persons taste is different to another’s. Sound advice.
Nonetheless, I would like to point out a few places that the staff of Villas Sur Mer in Negril recommend from their own local knowledge.

Negril is a small but widely dispersed beach resort town located across parts of two Jamaican parishes, Westmoreland and Hanover. Negril is just about one hour and fifteen minutes drive from Sir Donald Sangster International Airport, in Montego Bay.

Now Negril is not shy when it comes to nightlife and burning the candle at both ends, oh no! Places like One Love, Sexy Rexy’s bar, Margaritaville, Ricks Café and lots more places to go and hear live music and enjoy great food, there are also a great variety of beaches like Seven Mile Beach and Half Moon beach, Negril Cliffs and the beautiful Negril lighthouse. Ask the staff of Villas Sur Mer and they will be happy to point you to the best places in Negril. Enjoy your Vacation.

Jamaica Travel Guide

Map of Jamaica

Jamaica is perfect for a vacation but where to go?

Jamaica travel guide

An essential guide to the Caribbean island of Jamaica, including the best attractions, top hotels, restaurants and nightlife from the Telegraph.

Some things in life make your work easy, some make it difficult and advertising Jamaica villas and resorts is no easy task because there are many operators who are trying to outdo each other when it comes to providing tourist to Jamaica with accommodation, information and things to see and do, so, as you can imagine, there is a lot of information to sift through, not all of it good or relevant.
I am one of those people advertising Jamaica villas, Jamaica hotels, resorts and travel facilities and so I know what I am on about, so, when I came across this site from the Telegraph UK online I was grateful that I had found something special, some fantastic information that cuts out the bulls****, OK, there are some links that are most likely Jamaica Villas companies who have paid to have links included in the article but hey! Who cares? As long as we get the information on Jamaica, where to go and what to see and do, a few adverts here and there are acceptable.
So, the article; The Jamaica Travel Guide. Why go to Jamaica? When to go to Jamaica? What to see and do as well as some interesting hints and tips this is an article that is well worth a few minutes of your valuable time to find out a few valuable hints and tips http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destination/jamaica/49662/Jamaica-travel-guide.html
You can also ask the good and the great at www.luxuryarrivals.com the self same questions and they will be happy to assist any of their Jamaica Villas clients with any questions about Jamaica.

Holidays to Jamaica - How many people visit Jamaica?

From this bar graph we can see the answer is 'Lots'

I have never been one for red tape or gobbledygook but sometimes you really have to bite the bullet and get in there and take it on the chin. Your thinking I have gone mad, I’m sure you are but what I am getting at is statistics, you know, that mass of numbers, percentages, graphs and squiggly lines that are suppose to enlighten us but really only add to the confusion. There is an old proverb that likens statistics as a lamp post to a drunk, there more for support than acumination.

Anyway, I, being a great fan of the beautiful paradise island of Jamaica was interested in how many people actually visited the country during the course of any given period and so I went sniffing about on the Internet to see what I could find.

To be honest, I found a lot of very dull websites with even duller content, masses of graphs and serious looking people try their best to look serious and so in the end I resorted to one of my own favourite websites for information, the Jamaica Observer!

For the period January 1 to August 31 this year, Jamaica welcomed a total of 2.09 million visitors which netted the country US$1.5 billion. Speaking at the official opening ceremony of the 21st Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) tourism trade show, minister of tourism Edmund Bartlett said:

There is a great amount of interesting (?) information regarding the tourism numbers to Jamaica, who is spending what and where, which other islands are getting more visits and a load of other stuff you may want to use in your repertoire of barstool anecdotes or after dinner musings to keep guests or friends interested (You may however wish to hide any sharp objects.)

There really are just a couple of real hard facts to take notice of;
Jamaica is a very beautiful island that attracts millions of visitors every year and continues to do so.

Jamaica is one of the favourite destinations for tropical weddings.

Jamaica has no venomous snakes or spiders.

The next question is where would I advise all of these people to go and stay or have a tropical wedding in Jamaica? I’m happy to say I have a much uncomplicated answer:

Jamaica weddings and Honeymoons, Special Occasions and Reunions you are making a perfectly sound choice with www.villassurmer.com in beautiful Negril.

For Jamaica vacations in all other parts of Jamaica and the Caribbean islands then www.luxuryarrivals.com is the company to look after you.
Visit both these websites and you will see for yourself why these are two of the most popular Jamaica villas and weddings companies in the Caribbean.
