Where have I been?

Well, its a bit of a story but to cut things short; I've been real busy. I know that is no excuse for not keeping the Blog updated and I know I need to get myself sorted, so, here we go, lets get blogging again.

Things are changing all over the world and as countries are beginning to come out of the recession, people are once again thinking about holidays in the Caribbean and in particular, Jamaica.

If you have read this Jamaica blog of mine, you will see that I have extolled the wonders of Jamaica and Negril in particular, I'm happy to say that my opinion of this wonderful island nation has not changed. OK, I may look through rose tinted glasses but that is the point of this Jamaica blog! I'm here to point out the very best that Jamaica offers in order for you to have a great holiday here.

Many of you may have already been to Jamaica, stayed in a Jamaica villa or hotel resort, some have had a destination wedding, very popular they are and some may have just passed through on one of the big posh liners, whatever, you will have heard and seen all the things I have mentioned in this blog and I would love to hear your stories and see your photographs of Jamaica. I have written hundreds, nay, thousands of pages in my time on Blogs extolling the virtues of this location and that location, I have praised villas from the ground upwards and all with the utmost sincerity but I feel I have to go just a little bit further with villa. Amanoka.

Amanoka is a Sanskrit word meaning “peaceful home” and when you take a look around this delightful Jamaica villa you will see that the name is well suited.

Villa Amanoka is set in the delightful Discovery Bay on the north side of the island of Jamaica, not far from everything that is going on and close enough to all the very best tourist and cultural sites that Jamaica has to offer.

7 beautiful bedrooms and so many features that a trip to the main Personal Choice Jamaica website will list everything available but the property is fully staffed, has a beachfront location and views that you would bite your own arm off to see, I wouldn’t advise you do that though, it would make using the tennis courts a little difficult. Things to do in Jamaica:

I thought I knew pretty much what there was to do on a Jamaica vacation with Villas Sur Mer but as it transpires, I don’t know half of it, this came as a bit of a surprise. I was flipping through the Internet, as one does, for informative websites from which visitors to Villas Sur Mer at Negril could glean information from to save them time once they got here and I came across a wonderful link which screamed out “492 things to do in Jamaica!”

Now, 492 things is a lot of things to do and I was interested to where my miserable list of 100 Jamaica attractions had fallen short but I need not have bothered as this site knocked my Jamaica list into a cocked hat. The website is part of the Trip Advisor sites, a sort of Wikipedia for travellers worldwide.

There are the usual suspects listed, such as Ocho Rios, Dunne’s River falls, Runaway Bay, Kingston, Port Antonio etc but here and there are buried little treasures that are well worth digging for, such as The Pelican Bar ( A bar built on stilts in the middle of the Caribbean Sea) Bob Marley Museum, Glass Bottom Boat tours, Reef Dives and lots more.
