Where have I been?

Well, its a bit of a story but to cut things short; I've been real busy. I know that is no excuse for not keeping the Blog updated and I know I need to get myself sorted, so, here we go, lets get blogging again.

Things are changing all over the world and as countries are beginning to come out of the recession, people are once again thinking about holidays in the Caribbean and in particular, Jamaica.

If you have read this Jamaica blog of mine, you will see that I have extolled the wonders of Jamaica and Negril in particular, I'm happy to say that my opinion of this wonderful island nation has not changed. OK, I may look through rose tinted glasses but that is the point of this Jamaica blog! I'm here to point out the very best that Jamaica offers in order for you to have a great holiday here.

Many of you may have already been to Jamaica, stayed in a Jamaica villa or hotel resort, some have had a destination wedding, very popular they are and some may have just passed through on one of the big posh liners, whatever, you will have heard and seen all the things I have mentioned in this blog and I would love to hear your stories and see your photographs of Jamaica. Here we go again. Guess what the significance of the name is. Villa Drambuie. This one was not such a hard name to trace because of the liqueur by the same name. As luck would have it, that's what the name means "Drambuie" made in 1893 for Bonnie Prince Charlie (Charles Stuart) of porridge gobbling fame (Porridge: A dish consisting of oatmeal or another meal or cereal boiled in water or milk. Used in Scotland to sustain the population: Dr Johnson). It is said that this drink was made for him and the ingredients are secret. The Scots call a drop of whisky a "Dram" It does taste nice though.

Have you ever wondered, whilst watching the adverts on the telly, "who thinks this stuff up!?" I do!

When I say "I do!" I don´t mean that I think this stuff up, I mean that I watch the telly and wonder "Who makes this stuff up!?" and one reason is because I'm jelous.

I want to be the director who does the photo shoot with beautiful model on golden sands and pale blue Caribbean sea. So, heres my take on it. I´ve even got the model and the Caribbean (see photo)

Coffee. Who doesn't like Coffee? Everyone I know loves coffee. Black coffee, white coffee, strong coffee, coffee with " a little something" in it. There are numuerous ways of drinking coffee and we all have our favourite brands and blends.

I live in Andalucia, Spain, and everyone here drinks coffee and believe me, it's strong! At my local Café, La Plaza, one cup of Santa Christina from Paco the camarero (waiter) and you don´t sleep for a week, he makes it like he drinks it and that's very strong indeed.

Now, I was talking to Lisa, the boss woman of Jamaican Treasures, that fine luxury villa rentals company with 300+ villas all over the world (Yeah, we got it the first Blog!) and Lisa was telling me about "The best coffee in the world" and that is, so Lisa say's Blue Mountain Coffee from Jamaica (where else?)

Now, I have never tasted Blue Mountain coffee but I am assured that there is a bag of it winging it's way from Jamaica to my very own house in the mountains of Andalucia and so I look forward to giving you my expert opinion on this very product.

In the 1980s, the Earl of Mansfield sold the house to a Jamaican family, renowned for founding Red Stripe Beer. Today, Scotch on the Rocks is still owned by members of that family. There, thats why!
