I am often seized with inspiration whilst gazing out of the window (searching for inspiration!) and today was no different. I was meandering through http://www.myluxuryvillas.com a sister site to Jamaican Treasures, the best villa rentals company in the Caribbean, as you know already. Anyway, whilst perusing the My Luxury Villas website I came across this amazing place called Cannon Cottage, which is at Silver sands in Jamaica. Cannon Cottage? What a strange name for a villa in Jamaica, or so I thought.

Fancy a dip?

Cannon Cottage gets its name from the couple of old cannons that still decorate the grounds. Give Cannon Cottage its due, the views are extraordinary and the beach is golden with fine grained sand. The swimming and snorkeling off the beach at Cannon Cottage is magnificent and if peace and quiet is what you crave, then you have it here in this luxury Jamaica villa.

Golf courses in Jamaica

JAMAICAN GOLF BLOG

Golf. If, like me, you are a complete philistine and refer to Golf clubs as "bats" then this post is not for you, Oh no! Golf is a mystery to me, I could never understand why big lads want to look like they got dressed in the dark at a fancy dress shop while the owner was out. Plus fours? Orange tartan shirts? Behave lads!

But, in the interest of fair play (no pun intended) I am going to add my little entry for all of those people who like to walk about manicured lawns..digging ruddy great divvots out of them. I am going to tell you about a wonderful Blog called "Jamaican Golf Blog" and it is very good.

I don´t pretend to understand the jargon but by the looks of things the people who look after the Jamaican Golf Blog really know their stuff. They have all the courses marked out, green fees, U.S.G.A ratings (I take it that would mean United States Golf Association?) resort highlights and lots more great information, it really is what the Internet was intended for, INFORMATION!

Anyway, I´m more than happy to point you in their direction as you will no doubt want to have a couple of goes at golf when you come and stay at any of our delightful villas in Jamaica.

Duke's Hideaway is a lovely beachside cottage with 3 charming bedrooms. All bedrooms are air-conditioned for your comfort and also has ceiling fans. This villa belongs to the gated community of Silver Sands, and has the use of the Silver Sands tennis court and club house. You will be very comfortable here in the Duke's Hideaway. Her Majestesty the Queen and her Husband The Duke of Edinburgh visit the island and stayed at Silver Sands, the two cottages were named Duke's Cottage and the next one Queen's Cottage, thus, Duke's Hideaway.
