I am often called upon to rant and rave about many things in life, most of them almost irrelevant but sometimes I do come up with some worthwhile gems of advice, especially when it comes to Vacations in the Caribbean islands and more to the point, vacations in Jamaica.

Jamaica is the most popular of all the Caribbean Islands, especially amongst the Europeans and North Americans who both seem to have a single mission in life and that is to find a place in the sunshine for their annual vacation or to have a romantic wedding reception, some choose Jamaica for a family reunion or other type of social or business function.

The problem a lot of people find is which villa or resort to choose and which particular Jamaica Villas company to go with? There are plenty of luxury Jamaica villas to go round but the truly exceptional villas are often taken before you have made up your mind. I am often seized with inspiration whilst gazing out of the window (searching for inspiration!) and today was no different. I was meandering through http://www.myluxuryvillas.com a sister site to Jamaican Treasures, the best villa rentals company in the Caribbean, as you know already. Anyway, whilst perusing the My Luxury Villas website I came across this amazing place called Cannon Cottage, which is at Silver sands in Jamaica. Cannon Cottage? What a strange name for a villa in Jamaica, or so I thought.

Fancy a dip?

Cannon Cottage gets its name from the couple of old cannons that still decorate the grounds. Give Cannon Cottage its due, the views are extraordinary and the beach is golden with fine grained sand. The swimming and snorkeling off the beach at Cannon Cottage is magnificent and if peace and quiet is what you crave, then you have it here in this luxury Jamaica villa.

Sometimes, when I am adding a post to this Blog for Jamaican Treasures vacation villas, I know, without even thinking, that it will throw up a question from the elite of Blogtopia, that's you, in case you didn´t know.

People do like to know what this and that means and what the difference is between one thing and another, even though they may be or, seem to be, the same or similar item, place or object. This property, Villa Coral Cay, will raise the question from you "What's the difference between Coral Cove (the last posting) and Coral Cay?" this posting.

I'll tell you, shall I? (bet you can't wait!)

A Cay is A low bank or reef of coral, rock, or sand and a Cove is a small type of bay or coastal inlet, with a narrow, restricted entrance, they are often circular or oval. Got it? Good!

The same cannot be said for the properties though. True, both are fantastic Jamaica villas, both are 2 or more properties, both are right on the waterfront, each has it's own staff, such as a cook and housekeeper, each has extra services available..I´ll find something different, give me a chance! better still, why don´t you take a look and see what the difference is between Coral Cove and Coral Cay? Golf courses in Jamaica

JAMAICAN GOLF BLOG

Golf. If, like me, you are a complete philistine and refer to Golf clubs as "bats" then this post is not for you, Oh no! Golf is a mystery to me, I could never understand why big lads want to look like they got dressed in the dark at a fancy dress shop while the owner was out. Plus fours? Orange tartan shirts? Behave lads!

But, in the interest of fair play (no pun intended) I am going to add my little entry for all of those people who like to walk about manicured lawns..digging ruddy great divvots out of them. I am going to tell you about a wonderful Blog called "Jamaican Golf Blog" and it is very good.

I don´t pretend to understand the jargon but by the looks of things the people who look after the Jamaican Golf Blog really know their stuff. They have all the courses marked out, green fees, U.S.G.A ratings (I take it that would mean United States Golf Association?) resort highlights and lots more great information, it really is what the Internet was intended for, INFORMATION!

Anyway, I´m more than happy to point you in their direction as you will no doubt want to have a couple of goes at golf when you come and stay at any of our delightful villas in Jamaica.
