Jamaica Villas - Adding a Blog

JAMAICA VILLAS - ADDING A BLOG TO YOUR WEBSITE

OK, so you have a website for Jamaica Villas, what do you do now to make it more interesting? There are loads of things you can add to these new WIX websites, they are cool and great fun. I made http://doyl62.wix.com/jamaicavillas a week or so ago as I wanted to try out the sites, I had heard so much about them.
I had the main site for advertising Jamaica villas all done in a couple of hours, yes, really, they are quick to use, but there was something missing? What could I do to add a little bit more interest, more information or more to the point, current information. The answer is of course, ‘add a Blog!’
Now, WIX sites have Blogs that are ready to go, easy to use and they also look pretty good, they also have all sorts of apps as well, you can do a great job in a very short time. So, without further ado, my Blog for the new VSM Jamaica Villas website can be found at the following address:  http://doyl62.wix.com/jamaicavillas#!blog/c1hkg

Jamaica Villas Websites

JAMAICA VILLAS WEBSITES

Blue Mountain Coffee: Yeah Mon, Jamaica!

Villas Sur Mer at West End, Negril, Jamaica is a boutique resort. What do we mean by "Boutique Resort?" Well, a boutique resort is a small resort that offers you all the style, quality and service of a large resort but in a more relaxed, intimate and friendly fashion.

You've all heard of the large resorts in Jamaica, such as Sandals but its not everyone's cup of tea, some folk like a more laid back and relaxed approach to vacations and destination weddings and that is exactly what you get when you book with Villas Sur Mer at Negril.

I decided, in my wisdom, or lack of it, to make another website for Villas Sur Mer and I have made it using WIX websites. Wix Websites are excellent for beginners or people like me who want to experiment with websites and Blogs, they are quick and easy to make and don't cost a penny.

You could quite easily make a website of your trip to Jamaica, your destination wedding or just a general website. There are plenty of templates and you'll have great fun.

Please give us your honest opinion our our little site we are playing about with and if you are making your own Jamaica website, send us a link and we will be happy to take a look at it, we may even become link partners. http://doyl62.wix.com/jamaicavillas

Jamaica Villas Lonely Planert

JAMAICA VILLAS LONELY PLANET

Negril Lighthouse

There are many articles on Jamaica, millions I would say and that is no exaggeration. I'm a Jamaica Villas Blogger so I trawl the Internet looking for items and articles, news and photographs relating to Jamaica so I should know.

It isn't hard to find these articles and items on Jamaica, a simple search of Google will give you everything you want, from links to the Jamaica Observer online newspaper to any amount of Blogs, chat rooms and recipe websites.

As per normal with me, today I was searching the Internet for Jamaica articles of interest and I found one that I must have passed a hundred times and never thought of visiting, its called Lonely Planet. This is a great article entitled "Introducing Jamaica".

The article is by a chap called Paul Clammer:

"Before visiting Jamaica, I hadn’t realized my preconceptions of the country were firmly out of date – somewhere between the troubles of the 1970s and Bob Marley’s last LP. Touching down for the first time, the scales fell from my eyes. I’ve rarely been to a country so viscerally alive (Kingston dancehall street parties have to be experienced to be believed) and so achingly beautiful: just how many waterfalls hidden in rainforests can one country have? Smooth like rum and hot like a spicy plate of jerk, Jamaica ensnared me instantly. The media might call it dangerous, but the worst crime you’re likely to encounter is having your heart stolen."

If you are renting a Jamaica villa for a vacation or wedding then please check this excellent website out and get the 'heads up' before you set sail for beautiful Jamaica.

Jamaica Villas

JAMAICA VILLAS WEBSITES

Happy smiling face of Jamaica.

This week I got it into my head that I would like to make a Wix website for www.villassurmer.com Jamaica Villas vacations. So, without further ado, I logged into Wix and got myself the Jamaica Villas handle and started work on the new version of the Villas Sur Mer website.

Never having used Wix before I was a bit ham handed but, once I got into it, it was really not too bad, in fact, quite easy. There are all sorts of helpful tricks and tools on the Wix site and so it didn’t take long for me to produce the first copy. This will be changed and tweaked over the coming week until I have a Jamaica Villas website that is both presentable and, hopefully, interesting.

Take a look and tell me what you think. http://doyl62.wix.com/jamaicavillas

Platelet Rich Plasma PRP Therapy (Vampire Therapy) demonstration

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy (Vampire Therapy) demonstration

Scared of Vampires? You had better now watch this video then!

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP):

OK, I haven't lost the plot and been watching Count Dracula movies. I got this little item from my old Jamaica friend the Jamaica Observer (as mentioned in my last post) and if you want to see the lengths some people will go to to look good then this one takes the biscuit.

I "borrowed" the following paragraph when I decided to research a little bit more about Platelet Rich Plasma and so I will give you the link so you can read all about this gruesome little makeover for yourself. PRP LInk

Platelet rich plasma (abbreviated PRP) is a new treatment used for some common orthopedic conditions. PRP is a concentration of platelet cells taken from your blood, and these platelets have growth factors that may help in the healing process of chronic injuries.

Growth factors are chemicals that signal the body to initiate a healing response. By injecting PRP into areas of an injury, the hope is to stimulate and optimize your body's ability to heal the chronic conditions.

Read the full article from the link above, its very interesting.

Jamaica News

JAMAICA NEWS

Jamaica News online

If you are interested in Jamaica and all things Jamaican then there are some excellent websites reliable that offer you up to date news and information at the click of a mouse. One of my own favourites in the Jamaica Observer online

The "JO" is a cracking website that is full of up-to-date stories as well as having some great articles on the people and places that make Jamaica such a wonderful place. They don't pull any punches either, you get the rough with the smooth, the good and the bad.

Take a visit to the Jamaica Observer website before you get to your Villas Sur Mer villa and you'll hit the ground running as there is so much valuable information contained in this website that you will feel like you know Jamaica like a native. Enjoy! Jamaica Observer.

Where have I been?
Well, its a bit of a story but to cut things short; I've been real busy. I know that is no excuse for not keeping the Blog updated and I know I need to get myself sorted, so, here we go, lets get blogging again.

Things are changing all over the world and as countries are beginning to come out of the recession, people are once again thinking about holidays in the Caribbean and in particular, Jamaica.

If you have read this Jamaica blog of mine, you will see that I have extolled the wonders of Jamaica and Negril in particular, I'm happy to say that my opinion of this wonderful island nation has not changed. OK, I may look through rose tinted glasses but that is the point of this Jamaica blog! I'm here to point out the very best that Jamaica offers in order for you to have a great holiday here.

Many of you may have already been to Jamaica, stayed in a Jamaica villa or hotel resort, some have had a destination wedding, very popular they are and some may have just passed through on one of the big posh liners, whatever, you will have heard and seen all the things I have mentioned in this blog and I would love to hear your stories and see your photographs of Jamaica. I will publish them on this blog, if you like.

Jamaica Villas

New year, new post but on my old Blog which, to my surprise, I have not added to for some time but never mind, we are here now. So, what's happening in 2015 that we should know about?

For a start, there will be people who will be looking to get married this year, there are people who have weddings every year, not the same people, you understand, but weddings happen every year and so people are always looking for a destination wedding in some far flung corner of the planet to make their wedding that little bit different from the rest of us mere mortals.

Negril, Jamaica, that's the place for a destination wedding, Jamaica's western tip, overlooking the cliffs at Negril is the boutique resort of Villas Sur Mer, the top boutique resort in Jamaica, the same high standards of the big resorts, such as Sandals but with a more cosy atmosphere.

Villas Sur Mer offer the best of all worlds as well as having the most beautiful and dramatic backdrops to grace any destination wedding and honeymoon. The staff are trained at organising special events, such as weddings and corporate occasions and will make your big day stress free so you can just enjoy the moment.

Take a look at the main Villas Sur Mer websites and see what we have to offer you, if you need assistance, we are here waiting to help you. www.villassurmer.com

Properties For Sale in Cuba

My aunt Doreen in Havana, March 2014

Property for sale in Cuba? Don't worry, you are not going mad, you really can buy and sell as well as rent properties all over Cuba. Since 2011 the ruling Junta has come to its senses and allowed owners to buy and sell properties, something that has been banned for decades.

The Cuban economy is in tatters, even though Russia has just wiped 90 million dollars of debt, decades of neglect and the American embargo has produced a sterile economy and now that Fidel Castro has handed over the running of the country to his brother Raul, some reforms have been made.

There are still mountains of red tape of course and if you want to buy a Cuban property you have to be a resident, although there are ways around that as well but if you do fancy a bit of Cuban real estate then check out one of our link partners websites, Havana Houses

Havana Houses are located, as the name would suggest, in Havana itself and they have a large portfolio of Havana properties for sale and rent, you can also contact them direct. Havana Houses have English, Spanish, Dutch and other languages so you will be understood, no matter what part of the world you come from.

Cuba properties

Home sweet home.
To see how far you have travelled you really do need to look back, that’s my philosophy, you may have a different idea. With this in mind I found a really good set of photographs and a small story to accompany them on the Al Jazeera.com website. The photographs are by Alison McCauley and they are as beautiful as they are pathetic. Cuba Property
The photographs are of some of the most beautiful buildings in Havana, Cuba, buildings that have been allowed to fall into complete ruins but still are what some people actually called ‘Home’ Historical buildings such as the Hotel Bristol in central Havana, left to go to ruin but still occupied by former employees. I wonder what the people who stayed in this grand hotel in the thirties and forties would think if they could see what has become of this once beautiful Cuban lady?
The photographs also show the absolute insolvency of the Castro led regime as far as providing homes for the Cuban people is concerned and in maintaining some of the most beautiful and iconic buildings anywhere in the Caribbean. Please take a look at the Al Jazeera Blog and the Alison McCauley photograph’s and see for yourself the state of these Cuba buildings.
There is, however, hope: Castro and the regime has, since 2011, allowed the buying and selling of Cuban property and this is establishing a Cuba property market, this in turn will drive the need to both build and renovate properties all over Cuba, not just in Havana. Check out the latest Cuban property on Havana Houses website.
